ACT refuses to score son's ACT

My child took the ACT with accommodations(multiple day testing, etc.) due to physical disabilities. Because of scheduling issues at school (snow days) the proctor gave my child 2 of the sections in the “wrong” order–one of the sections was the essay. Because of this clerical mistake, ACT refuses to count my child’s test. The proctor has spoken with ACT and they will not be flexible at all about this–even though there is no research/evidence that taking these sections out of order has any impact on the final score (since the test is taken over multiple days within a 2 week window to begin with!). Has anyone heard of this happening and do you think I have any recourse? The only person being punished is my child who is at no fault! Thanks for your advice/help!

not sure how to help ya, the ACT is anal about such things… they don’t want anything harming their reputation and having the test become less “standardized”. what they say goes. :/
