ACT Retake issue.

Hello everyone. I’m retaking the ACT this October via standby testing. Previously, I scored a 35 with a 31 in Maths which, since I’m applying for STEM-intensive majors, could look bad. I’ve consulted some people and most of them agree. Basically, I wanted to know if I should just focus on Maths or revise for each section? Furthermore, should I give the ACT with or without writing? Thanks!

Revise for each section (but focus on math since you need that the most) - you don’t want an overall bad composite. If your schools don’t require the writing, you shouldn’t feel obliged to take it. If you’re sending your old score that has a good writing score, you could probably skip the writing.
