So I took both the SAT and the ACT in June. Both were taken completely blind, almost no preparation because I wanted to see where I stood, probably a bad decision. Well here are my scores…

SAT:
590 Reading
600 Math
530 Writing
1720 overall

ACT: 26 Composite

Now I’m wondering if it’s a better decision to take both the tests again or focus on improving one. I am aiming at going to competitive schools like Northwestern and Cornell. I know I can definitely improve both with proper preparation.

Definitely study for both and take both… you never know which will turn out better.
So far they both came out the same way even without you studying for them…
And remember the subject test too, if you are going to apply to very competitive schools as well.

SAT is much more strategy based, so you can improve your score a lot if you study. ACT is more curriculum bases so it may be harder to improve that score.
