I have a 33 on the ACT. Did terrible on just one section-is it worth retaking to try and get a 34. I am looking for merit aid.
Is the subscore below 28? If so, retaking the test might be a good idea, but it’d be a waste of time if you don’t improve significantly enough on the section to boost your composite. It’s hard to go up too far once you’re in the 30s.
Does he get to sit the state test in MArch? Why wouldn't he sit it? I would totally have him look at his weak section and retake.
thank you. I think doing a bit of review on Geometry and I will do better. I guess every point helps with merit aid.
I would not retake a 33 unless you bombed on a subscore.
I don’t think it’ll get you any more merit aid. Maybe if you did horrible on that one section (I’m talking like mid 20s, which isn’t bad but probably not what you’re looking for). If it wasn’t math or critical reading, I wouldn’t worry too much.
