ACT Stem scores are not, uh, great

I took the ACT in February and received a composite score of 28. not terrible, but I could definitely do better. My main problem is that my math score was the lowest (19), and science wasn’t too hot either (22), but my reading and English scores are not in line with the other two (35 and 33, respectively). Am I just a hopeless idiot? How do I raise my score? send help

What year in high school are you, and what math class are you currently taking?

Because of your great E and R scores you will be able to focus on studying for math and science for the next test. How did you prepare for the Feb ACT? Did you take a review class and/or work with a tutor? Are those things options?

The ACT test has a fast pace and in order to adequately prepare for the test one needs to complete many math and science problems, and then take timed practice tests. Reviewing the missed questions from the practice tests will help you focus on the concepts you need to study and practice more.

@mjisaloser Try the SAT instead? Take a practice test (you can find official retired tests on line) under timed conditions and see how you do. No science section and the pace is slower.
