ACT Study Tips

Hi, I have taken the ACT three times and am taking it again on October 24th for probably the last time.

The first time I tested, I didn’t study at all.
E - 30
M - 29
R - 32
S - 30
Composite - 30

I didn’t prepare the second time, either.
E - 33
M - 30
R - 30
S - 32
Composite - 31

The third time, I did study. However, I was very busy that week and I studied very hastily. I didn’t do any studying for Science or Reading, either.
E - 35
M - 30
R - 34
S - 32

Do you have any tips? I’m pretty confident in my English. My Reading worries me, because I feel like it will fluctuate a lot. I really am aiming to improve my Math and Science to hopefully get a 35 for my Composite score. What books/guides should I use to study? I have sort of looked at Barron’s ACT 36, but I don’t know which guides are good and which guides are bad. And how long would Barron’s ACT 36 take to complete? I would have to order it, and it probably wouldn’t come until two weeks before the test.

Thanks in advance!

For October, I suggest you work on your Math.

Practice with real ACT Math tests from 2014/2015.

I would use the videos by ACT Quantum to review what you get wrong, and learn from your mistakes.

Otherwise, you seemed to have mastered the rest of the test.
