Ok, I am a Junior taking the ACT’s for the first time this Saturday. I live in Nj and plan on applying to pretty competitive schools like lehigh, bc, cornell, wake forest, columbia, etc. I was wondering if I do well on this ACT, do I need to take the SAT at all? If i do not do well I was wondering when we would learn our scores(exact date would help) because I would consider taking teh January SAT’s. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Some of those schools probably require you to take one or more SAT subject tests, so even if you did really good on ACT, you probably will still have to take subject tests. I took ACT in Oct 28 for first time and scores were let out for early viewing 2-3 weeks later, but not writing scores. Im not sure when the essay scores were first let out.

well
i f u score really well, like a 34-36 (if ur applyin to ivies) then i wouldnt see a reason to take sat’s
but u will need to take sat 2’s

Except in October, the multiple choice scores start coming out the Tuesday a week after the test (so like ten days). The writing scores start coming out about three weeks after the test. You’d probably get your scores on those days, but don’t count on it: keep in mind it can take up to seven weeks from the test date to get your scores.
