ACT vs SAT

Does taking the ACT look bad if you are coming from the East Coast and you want to apply to elite schools and ivy leagues? Do these schools look down it? Anyone with experience would really help

No. ALL schools accept both the ACT and SAT. Only one school (in CA) even states it has a preference (and that is for the ACT).

It has to look somewhat bad though. I mean the smartest kids usually take the SAT

^He clearly stated the answer above and you are trying to prove another point…
No. Smartest kids DO take both tests, however some may submit one another… Don’t get the point wrong

I had always prepared for the SAT but found the ACT to be easier. And one doesn’t look better than the other.

can someone also please inform me about the Test Information Release? I’m confused how come they only release the test to those certain kids and not to the public? It doesn’t make much sense. Why dont they just do a full release?

You have to pay for it. <a href=“ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT”>ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT; Google does work…

LOL OP, why do you ask a question, get an answer, then suggest a different answer?

They’re looked at THE SAME.

@AR12341 They’re absolutely weighted the same. The ACT has been around long enough. In the last year, there have even been more students taking the ACT than the SAT.

I would go with the ACT now personally, just because it’s reasonable to study for. Take a lot of practice tests. With the SAT changing, I feel like that would personally scare me away.
