ACT Worth it?

Hi.

I was wondering if its worth it to study and take the ACT, considering the fact that Class of 2010 can choose which SAT scores to send. I want/need to study for the SAT and 2 subject tests/1 AP for my upcoming junior year. If so, when should I start studying? Which Prep book?

I’m only considering the ACT because I’m more of a hardworking, studious student than a cerebral/“naturally smart/fast” genius (I heard that the ACT is designed so that as long so you study a lot you’ll get a good score). NOTE that I’m applying to eastern schools for the most part and am only considering a few colleges in California/Midwest (although they are very prestigious-Stanford, UChicago, Pomona, etc).

YES IT IS! even though you can decide scores, sometimes (like yale) schools will either accept SAT I + X#SAT IIs or just the ACT. saves you a lot of time and money. plus it is so much easier

no not really
most pple get almost the same score as sat’s
also pple who didn’t study act and who are naturally
‘genius’ just tends to do good
