ACT Writing Test: Story or Debate based

Hi,

I am just wondering whether the ACT Writing Questions are usually based in non-fiction story (I.e., What is your favorite memory from high school?) or debate based (Should students over the age of 16 be able to drive to school or forced to take the bus?)? Or can the question go either way? Thanks for any help you can provide.

They are more debate based. I don’t think they’re ever story based questions.

Thanks a lot for the reply…

And in two unrelated questions: If I take the writing test, and some of my hopeful colleges do not require it, can I request that the writing section not be included for scores that are sent out to these colleges and have the full ACT score with writing test included be sent to the colleges that require it or no?

Also, is a formula or geometry formula sheet given for the math portion of the test of should all formulas be remembered by the test taker?

Thanks again.
