I was accepted off the wait list as Smith College today! Guess that means you can add them to the list!

Someone on the Brown Board announced that the school sent an email saying that the class was full and Brown would not be using the wait list. It seems that the earlier reports were mistaken.

It was posted on the Parents waitlist thread that Colby (Maine) is accepting a few off the waitlist–(source-the admissions blog at Colby).

@eagerdad

Only one person heard that and it’s seeming likely that it was a hacker or something. Everyone who has called has been told they will be using the waitlist. That person was told that over email. It seems a little odd to me.

MIT will admit about 60 applicants from the waitlist “in the next few days” according to its [admissions website](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/the_selection_process_application_reading_committee_and_decisions/the_waitlist_2009.shtml).

That’s great for MIT waiters. As for the Brown email saying nobody’s coming off the waitlist, that’s contradicted by two reports on the Brown Waitlist board saying that Brown Admissions Officers contacted two guidance counsellors yesterday asking that third-quarter grades be faxed to Brown. Go figure.

Brown was actually placed on the active list on this board (#167) based on posts reporting that a Brown admissions counsellor said they will go to their waitlist this year. That’s not the same as actually going to the waitlist, so I agree that Brown really isn’t active at this point. Nobody has reported anyone getting in off of B rown’s waitlist this year.

But I was encouraged by two reports that they are asking guidance counsellors for third quarter grades.

My daughter is on the Harvard wait-list. Has anyone been accepted from it yet? Was the student notified by e-mail or USPS?

rhill, I’m also on the Harvard waitlist. They have taken a few off so far, but I heard that the majority of the decisions are yet to be made, and letters will be mailed on the 20th

Any News on Barnard ?

Any news from Trinity College?

When will colleges let you know they’re not taking anyone off the waitlist? I’m waiting on Bates…
