Someone just posted on the Cornell forum, it doesn’t look like they will go to waitlist for A&S for now. They may in June in anticipation of summer melt.

Do most colleges call everyone they want to admit on the wait list on the same day or is it spread out over a week or so?

Should we define “active” more specifically? Some schools are being added because they’ve confirmed that they will use their lists, while some are being added because they have actually started taking people off. (If I were a nervous Brown hopeful on the waitlist, for instance, I’d see this list and think that they had already started contacting people, which would freak me out if I hadn’t heard anything.)

in the interests of mental health, i think you want to stick to facts here. If “someone says etc etc” I’d want that confirmed by either a reputable source, like the Princetonian, or from someone who actually got a an offer from a school. It makes no sense to perpetuate what may turn out to be rumors. I know my son, who did get off the WL at his school was having a tough enough time as it was, without the “I heard…” stuff.
