Active Waitlists

William & Mary is using their wait list, although so far it seems to be only for OOS students.

I spoke to a friend yesterday who told me that her daughter got into Dartmouth off the waitlist this week. The day after she found out, she got a letter from Harvard saying that their waitlist was now closed. Great timing.

Does anybody kno if Stanford’s policy for taking people off the WL is need blind as well? I’ve been hearing different rumors…

How does this compare to previous years? Is this a lot of waitlist activity or just about normal?

It looks like a lot to me…but I don’t follow this.

Added Princeton. Someone was taken off last week, and someone called, and the adcom said it is still officially open and active.

When does the “summer melt” usually start?

Bucknell sent out an email early May (May 7 or 8?) saying that was it. No more coming off waitlist. I have not heard of anyone getting off of Colgate’s waitlist, although you have them listed based on one person’s entry. The Colgate thread indicates no waitlist inactivity. Cornell’s waitlist also has no activity.

So that makes at least 2 that should not be on the list - Bucknell & WashU.

Letter came today saying the class is now full.

I was placed on the wait list for Boston university and I was wondering if there were any success stories? I read through this forum and only came across one. I have done everything possible to “raise my chances” from writing a letter of interest to actually hand delivering it while doing a informal interview at the welcome center with an admissions counselor. I know Boston university’s wait list is active, but is there any more information that I’m not aware of? Is there anything else I can do?

Any advice is really appreciated and I would like to thank everyone in advance.

I’m also on the BU waitlist. When did you send in your letters and stuff?
B/c I sent them in rather recently. Does this hurt my chances?

Re; Rice U waitlist. From the Rice forum, it looks like they have only taken 2 off the waitlist - both in architecture, which is a small program capped at about 25. Quoting from an email from the admissions department

It’s possible there will be a few spots that open - but it doesn’t look like they will go to the waitlist in any big way! Last year was similar, and only a handful of students were taken off the waitlist.

anyone know anything about Boston College???

Trinity opened its waitlist today.

Removed Grinnell, a letter that the waitlist was closed was sent out

based on activity and reasonably reliable reports, it appears Hamilton’s Wait List is now closed unless things radically change. Thank god, my S made it. (sorry i just have to keep doing that - we are so happy for him as he really really wanted to go.)

Bowdoin’s class is currently full, but they’ve begun placing students on their summer waiting list.

However, the letter I recieved made it clear that they won’t be able to accept any more people (if they do, in fact, accept anyone) who need financial aid.

Any update on Princeton’s waitlist? Has anyone got in recently?

Does anyone have any updates on Villanova?
