The WashU WL is no longer active. There may be some individuals taken during the summer, but only if unexpected “summer melt” takes place - which is not likely.

Johns Hopkins is not using their waitlist this year, but they do have an “extended waitlist” as they are preparing for summer melt.

To start, it is Johns Hopkins, not John.

Second, Hopkins has not, and will not be admitting students off the wait list this year. Please remove it from this “active” list.

No. Cal - 1 off the WL at Stanford today, 1 other very recently, 2 off Harvard recently. I figure if I know of 2 at each locally, they must be taking many. My D says - ‘they will take off the WL those who can pay full price!’ Well, maybe she is right, as going by what I see among friends, a lot opted for the less $$ school this year, whether it is by full sticker price or by bottom line after merit or need financial aid packets were received. .

^^^ What is summer melt?

Summer melt is when admitted students decide during the summer either not to attend or to delay their admission - could be they got off the waitlist elsewhere, decided to take a gap year, or changed their plans completely. It happens.

Syracuse- but then they offer you virtually no financial aid…

UW-Madison has opened up its waitlist.

MPM5236: They ran out of money. In fact they took away seven thousand dollars of my aid even though on my verification my efc changed only by two thousand.

Anyone hear anything about Cornell?

Cornell is not looking at the waitlist at this point. I’ve actually asked the regional director and she said the class is either full or slightly overenrolled. Cornell is, however, also waiting for a summermelt.

Anybody know if they are accepting off the waitlist?

A kid at my school got into UChicago off the waitlist

Has anybody heard anything about the UNC-Chapel Hill waitlist?

Cornell is so big, I am surprised that they ever go to their watilists.

Does anyone know if the Univ. of Richmond has gone to the waitlist?

According to Admissions Richmond did not go to their Waitlist

A couple of people on the Trinity thread said they got letters taking them off the waitlist…I didn’t get anything…did anyone else get a letter?

Thanks for the info! I guess UF it is!
