What’s exact Activity Chart asked by Northwestern for undergraduate application? Is it like resume format listing more details about the activities already put on Common App “Activity” section? Or is it a personal statement that describes what you did, why you did, what you got from them, and what you achieved (maybe with award pictures)?
And it is a PDF that can be uploaded to somewhere in Common App? Thanks.
do you mean there is no additional item called Activity Chart? I think it is an enhancement version of activity section which allows only 150 characters.
TIP: The activity chart is your opportunity to be thorough about the depth and range of your involvement, whatever it may be.
The activity chart is your chance to explain any and all activities in which you’ve been involved outside of your high school classes. Provide as much detail as you can, explaining any abbreviations or acronyms that may be unique to your school. If you have held any leadership positions or received any awards, honors or distinctions, be sure to include that information on the activities chart as well. There’s no “right answer” to what kind of activities we like to see: Northwestern has over 500 different clubs and activities on campus, so we appreciate a very wide range of activities and value diversity of student interests.
The Northwestern Questions section has a tab for Activities that gives you an option to submit a resume, which is not required. But, there doesn’t seem to be an actual “chart” referenced in the app or in the application checklist. One might wonder if the reference is a relic of past admission cycles.
