How does Stanford expect anyone to use only 250 words to write about an activity??!! My two sentence at the beginning of my intro already has 71 words. !!

In a word, succinctly. This is not to be a fully developed essay with intro, body, and conclusion. This is a short answer where you show how well you can use words to get your message across in as few words as possible.

Suggestion: Use scratch paper to write out what you want to say, not worrying about word count. Then cut, cut, cut until you have the essence of your original writing, but in 250 words or fewer. It really IS possible, and often the shortened version is better than the original.
