I thought this was an entertaining article - noted NYT photographer who normally spends his time on the war front and the like - and who has never taken a pic of a celebrity - teamed up with various celebrities to take photos of them “In The Wild” - when they are out of the limelight doing things that they love for themselves.
Not a heavy article, you may or may not like all the celebs featured.
If a photographer reached out to you to spend an hour with you taking photographs of you doing something you love - something just for you - what would the photographer be taking pics of???
For me it would be tending to my yard and garden work. I just love it. It is a way to express what I love visually, a little quirkiness, a sense of order and a way to love and tend to something. It’s my personal escape/side hustle from work/family.
I would be pictured at the lake near my house. I might be walking/running/kayaking/practicing yoga/people and dog watching or listening to music at the band shell. It’s a one stop place for many things I love and being there never gets old for me.
The photograph would show me tucked into a corner of the couch with a blanket, reading some Jane Austen fanfic or rereading one of the novels that I find comforting.
