Actuarial science and College Admission

So I am currently a high schooler and I want to major in Actuarial Science. I communicated with the lead director for Actuarial Science at UPenn and he told me to take the first exam. I took the first exam in November and probably studied max 18 hours. I was wondering I want to get into UPenn and considering I am going to major in Actuarial Science how good does it look on my application to say that I have passed the first exam (exam P). Also I am currently in Calc 3 (taking it with the community college).

I’m sure that will be a nice tidbit but it’s not used in college admissions. Maybe as part of your essay?

Yeah I incorporated that in my essay so it would stand out a bit

Do you know what factors are very important for the admissions process especially for the Ivy League schools?

You do not have to major in actuarial science to prepare for actuarial work, although colleges have such majors to provide handy checklists of useful courses.

I know I don’t have to major in actuarial science but I feel like I’ll get better exam prep doing so and I will still be able to minor in something else I was thinking something like accounting.

So I recently got put on the priority waiting list at Carnegie Mellon and I was wondering a) would I still be able to get in and b) does this decision mean that I will technically have an even smaller chance of getting into UPenn?
