I just recently got accepted to these two schools and I want to know any opinions on which schools have the best path for someone pursuing a career as an actuary.
Temple is slum adjacent. UW is lake adjacent. UW is CAE designated. Temple is not.
Wisconsin is the better school in pretty much every way, except perhaps cost. That said, the actuary path is mainly about passing exams. Both schools should be fine in that regard. You will learn what you need to learn, it’s up to you to study and pass those exams. You should have at least one, preferably two exams passed by graduation, along with an internship on your resume. I assume you are aware of the incredible difficulty of those exams.
@Chardo is spot on. It is mostly about passing the exams. Just make sure the school offers a classroom review course specifically for that exam. The better schools will offer all five prep classes. These courses teach specifically to that exam.
