My roommate majored in math because she took a required calculus class during the fall of our first year and realized she had missed doing problem sets. She ended up on the path to become an actuary. This does not sound like you, OP. That is ok.
The job market is tumultuous right now. AI is changing everything, especially in STEM, and will likely keep changing things for the foreseeable future. CS, for example, is no longer the “safe” major in terms of job security that it used to be. I would not recommend planning your life around any singular job at this moment in history and at this moment in your life. I thought I had figured out what I wanted to do with my life at 17. Not even close. My career interests changed drastically in college, and it is likely yours will too. Give yourself time to explore all different kinds of subjects and careers once you arrive at college. It is very possible you will end up pursuing a career whose existence you are not aware of right now!
