Sad.

Sad indeed. Followed the Beastie Boys since their early days as hardcore punks. So young (gasp! same age as me). He’ll be missed.

DH has been sad all day about this. He loves the Beastie Boys … has for years. He was far too young. It’s very sad.

You gotta fight for your right to party…

I always liked No Sleep Till Brooklyn the best

didnt follow them but he sounded like a great human being

Thanks to CC, I get to learn about obscure musicians who passed away.

^^^

Not getting this, xiggi. How does a founding member of the Beastie Boys qualify as “obscure”?

Anyway, RIP, MCA! Keep rockin’ the party eight days a week … on another plane.

One of my favorite memories of the Beastie Boys involves my then 3 year old D. I had declared my car a mommy music zone and was blasting the Beastie Boys one day. D was enthusiastically singing along to “Fight for Your Right (to Party)” and at the end of the song gave a very ernest soliloquy about how is wasn’t fair that that they had to fight to have a party, and that if they wanted a party they should be able to have one. Happy parenting moments brought to you by the Beastie Boys

RIP Adam…

^^^
A great story.

They were hip hop, before white folks knew what hip hop was.

Opposite of obscure.

Obscure?

If Will Shortz makes your lyrics a clue - you are officially annoited pop culture.
