I know for freshmen, there’s freshmen orientation and everyone’s kind of in the same boat… is it usually harder for transfer students to fit into their new school? Are certain schools generally more accepting?
P.S. I’m primarily interested in schools like USC, Notre Dame and Michigan.
Transfer students generally don’t get much aid, so if families are stretching their budget just to pay tuition and room & board there may not be much money for socializing. That can make adapting more difficult. I think the larger a school is, the easier it is for transfers to blend in because most students don’t know each other anyway.
