I am a tutor, and took the weekly Kaplan practice SAT for the first time. It uses adaptive software, giving you harder or easier problems depending on the previous results. Each section is 25-30 questions. I got 800 math, 800 writing, 730 reading, which I thought was very accurate. I got 2 wrong each in math and writing, but that was still 800. Thought the adaptive approach works really well for strong students. It probably can’t be used for the real test, as it requires computers, and makes it hard to explain the score.
