Addictions (in general)

So why are some people more easily addicted to activities/things in general than others? Do those people lead a different lifestyle or is it just lax parenting?

Are people who are addicted to games just more pleasure oriented that others, for example?

like almost everything nowadays, there’s both a genetic component and an environmental component.

I’m addict–I’m addicted to you…

This is the kind of broad topic that people spend years researching and writing their dissertations on… I don’t think I’m capable of producing a sufficient response ;)

Haha mcb, that’s the first thing that came to mind for me too.

I think that in the case of video games, it’s the lifestyle that causes the addiction. How you look at a video game (waste of life as opposed to something fun) affects your ability to control or prevent an addiction.
