So my TAG was approved, and I am registered for 12 units for spring. But I wanted to add an additional irrelevant class to my schedule (history major), Intro to Java and C++. Will this jeopardize my chances for admission?
No
doubt it makes a difference, but you could tell them. See item (3) at http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/after-you-apply/
Nope. You have met minimum req to get TAG. Any gravy added to it is simply that - gravy. It does not impact TAG.
Where can I find out if my UCSB TAG is approved?
I guess the best way would be to go to the UCSB TAG page and look for a TAG advisor email, and send your UCSB ID and ask. I’m not sure every UC let’s you know though. I know UCD lets you know.
Its on https://uctap.universityofcalifornia.edu/students/index.cfm
It will say ‘check decision’ or something like that on one of the first pages.
How did you know that ucsb approved your tag already? Did they send you a message on your uc tap or email?
Because i thought we weren’t hearing back from them until march…
That’s a good point, kyle. Last year they didn’t alert.
@lindyk8 I might actually call them tomorrow about it and see if they can check my specific TAG status if i give them my ucsb id number.
I joined ucsb on college live weekly about 3 days ago, which is a college program that can keep you up to date on any school of your choice and works with each UC closely where you can attend webinars and what not. They actually sent me a message about 2 days ago saying that my ucsb tag was currently under review…so i’m guessing they already got my transfer academic update and are making their decision.
But if i never joined college weekly i probably would’ve never got this message…but i could’ve sworn ucsb told applicants about their tag in march prior to admission decisions.
What is college live weekly?
I believe @kyle2015 is referring to collegeweeklive.com. A login must be set up.
