Should I briefly write about when I moved to the US and such?

go for it if you think it’ll have an effect

I guess what I’m asking is do they care if some kid immigrated to the US, settled in an below-average city and lived in a low income city?

What did you put?

they only will care if it is a significant part of you and could be considered an important part of your application/admissions factors - if it can be represented through your essays or application without add. info, i would avoid it. my add info gave some background on my medical research as well as it’s bibliography in the journal it was going to be published in. additionally, i included the contact info of my supervisors in my ECs (as a lot of them were outside of school) just in case Stanford wanted to get into reach with them.
