I really want to include more information about a certain community service project that I’ve done for a while and won an award for. The 150 words I get for extracurriculars essay isn’t enough. My college counselor said that I should include an essay here about the volunteering project, but I’ve done some research and I’m worried that this isn’t where I am supposed to talk about this. Thoughts?

Additionally, I also thought about putting some professional economics research I’ve done. Thoughts on this?

Wait, you’re going to ignore the advice of your college counselor in favor of the opinions of a bunch of strangers online, many of whom are also high school students?

I’m going to bite my tongue and call your approach “brave.”

Be concise, and use the 150 word essay. Learn to edit. List the award in the awards section. Mention the Econ research as an EC, but admissions officers don’t want to read it.
