Additional Information section advice

My daughter had to leave a school in 11th grade because she had a problem with a teacher. It was her first year there after transferring from out of state. Being new, she didn’t feel she had enough institutional heft to make any noise about it, so she chose to finish high school as a homeschooler, taking classes at the local community college.

In her common app additional information section, she is upfront about the situation and adds a statement saying Unfortunately, I left due to physical and verbal abuse from a teacher.

I am not sure how this will come across to schools. Someone we had asked to review the application simply expressed her sympathy, earnestly and sincerely, if I may add, but said nothing about whether it was appropriate to include it. I would sincerely appreciate alternative/reinforcing viewpoints on this matter. TIA

Are her grades or curriculum impacted?

If not and she finished as a home schooler, why say anything?

Let the student’s #s stand for themselves.

In my opinion - it’s like - you get hit while driving, not your fault. But your insurance costs still go up because you are accident prone.

Why give them something to question her maturity or something else on?

They don’t want risk…and that statement shows risk.

I say, say nothing unless her grades tanked and you need to explain them.
