My current senior year grades are not as high as my previous years because I have one close friend who I’ve known since I was five come out and say she’s suicidal, cutting herself and we finally got her into therapy. Another close friend, in foster care, had her dad say something horrible to her recently which threw her into depression and suicidal thoughts again. Another friend, who i’ve known since 2nd grade now comes and tells me he is doing drugs and alcohol and is just in general VERY difficult to deal with. Now I’m wondering if this would be an o.k. explination to colleges about my grades slightly dropping? I’m not getting straight As. But I have 2 Bs right now.

Also, I’ve been dealing with my own suicidal thoughts and I have to go get a diagnosis about a chemical imbalance in my brain and what not. Also, severe sports injury, so I can’t do my sport and I was just in my absolute prime. Colleges will know about the injury, but should i tell them about my suicidal thoughts? Bad idea?

Because really, dealing with my three closest friends like this took a lot of time out of my schedule. I would rather have each of them be alive and well and me getting a few Bs rather than me getting straight As and them ending up dead somewhere.
