I can’t remember if I had read it or if a friend told me about this but somehow I heard that you can purchase an additional meal swipe plan for guests. Where do I find this? I was thinking it would be something that is offered via email or paper like the laundry service or linens for sale but nothing yet. Any help would be appreciated.
I don’t remember seeing that any where. I think they all get a handful of guest swipes each semester. D’s have all been used by visiting friends, not family. So I am not certain about the number.

$75 for the upgrade to “anytime meal plan”.
I think that $75 upgrade is just for the student; it does not extend to guests.
DS just told me that he really likes the anytime plan for two reasons:
1 he often eats more than one “meal”
2 even when he’s not eating, he can join his friends at their mealtime without having to promise the staff that he won’t eat anything.
Having seen DS eat, especially when he’s skating a lot (club, not D1 hockey), Yale must be losing money hand over fist on that $75 upgrade.
The ‘anytime’ actually includes 5 bonus meals per semester that can be used for family or guests (or themselves!) I tried to get dd to go for this. I won’t wven get into that conversation…

My daughter, who eats like a bird, always requested the upgrade, mainly for the “dollar points” which she liked to use at Durfee’s, KBT, and Marigold’s. Those were very valuable to her for when she was “away” from the dining halls during meal hours.

My point was that you don’t get extra bonus meals with the $75 upgrade. Both the regular and the upgrade have 5 bonus meals (according to the page). The upgrade gets $ swipes at some cafes around New Haven, but no extra guest meals.
