I am a high school student who was/is a semi-professional (as in I get almost all of my gear supplied for free/was on websites for companies) skier. One of my sponsors is also a good friend who has seen all of the hard work I have put in over the years. He thinks very highly of me not only as a skier but as an intellectual too. I haven’t had any teachers for more than a couple of quarters in a row as I am dual enrolled (which allows me to take hard classes and simultaneously train/travel). Thus, I think he will provide some context to the skiing-side of my life that none of my professors will be able to.

In my opinion I have some pretty cool accomplishments, a lot of which I probably won’t be able to fit in the application; even if I do put the accomplishments in the application it will certainly sound more legitimate coming from someone in the industry.

So wise-CC’ers, should I submit an additional recommendation? I know that the application readers don’t want to read 5 different letters about how little Jimmy is just the most awesome student, but is my case different?

Thanks in advance for the help everybody!
