I am not a strong math student, but have continued taking math classes that are challenging, although they are certainly not the most challenging my school offers. I am currently in the second year of IB Math Methods, which is the equivalent of Calculus AB. I have kept Bs in my math classes throughout high school, and am expected to get a B or a C this year (with a projected 5 on my IB exam).

My question : if my grade falls because I am having difficulty with the material (there are some extenuating circumstances this year, which is the reason this has come up at all), would it be beneficial for me to submit an additional letter of recommendation from my math teacher? I’m just afraid that it might come across as senioritis, and instead of using the additional section to ‘whine’ about the circumstances–particularly as math is a difficult subject for me–I was wondering if an additional letter of recommendation would perhaps be beneficial.
