<p>for the additional testing question, do you think it’d be okay to list a local/preliminary-round academic decathlon score (in economics)? or do they mostly expect the standard, national math/science tests, similar to the three listed (AHSME, AIME, Waterloo)?</p>

<p>it’s not about “what they expect”. what you choose to list also reflects something about you. if your local academic decathlon is the only thing you have to place in there, it says something about both your choice of academic pursuits and the level of your academic achievement. there’s no set ‘role’ of this section in the admissions process. a person who claims to love number theory for example, might benefit from sharing his results on math contests that focus in that area to ‘prove’ his competence while say a writer who lists the same competition will benefit from the diversity/versatility he demonstrates.</p>
