Admission as a Freshmen to Ivy or similar after taking a semester of college courses this year?ar

Because there are so few options this Covid year for gap year activities what top colleges will consider your application as a Freshmen for the class of 2025 even though you have completed a semester at college ? Not interested in receiving credit for the courses taken.

U.K. colleges are fine with this, and it can make for a stronger application at Oxbridge, since they don’t rate the US high school curriculum highly.

You need to check each college’s policy on how much college enrollment after high school graduation makes you a transfer student for their admission policies.

At some colleges, any college enrollment after high school graduation makes you a transfer student, so do not enroll in any college courses before checking on the policy of each college you would like to apply as frosh to.

Why are you thinking about taking those credit-bearing classes? Are you just trying to keep yourself busy, or do you hope to be able to apply those credits toward your degree?

If you just want to keep busy and maybe learn something useful, take a non-credit course or two. Look for those in the Continuing Education division of your local community college. At the CC where I teach there are a whole bunch of non-credit options that are interesting and can lead to employable skill sets.
