I am currently a rising senior, and I am stressed about the UCs. Here are my stats, including my ECs, etc. Everybody’s help would be immensely appreciated.
Moved to the United States freshman year (from an international country), currently based in California, our school is relatively new (making us the 4th graduating class).
Stats: currently 3.92 UW and 4.27 W (I tried calculating my UC GPA, and it was substantially lower, like a 4.08, and I am scared this will hinder my chances)
Unweighted GPA: 3.89
Weighted GPA: 4.28
Weighted and Capped GPA: 4.08
I am aiming for UCSD, UC Davis. Maybe see if I have a chance at UCB, UCLA, UCI (idk def not but).
I also wanted to see which CSUs would be suitable for me, I am interested in the pre-med route but becuase of personal reasons I might also have to be open for other majors that could get me a good starting salary if I decide to not go the pre-med route.
Courses taken:
→ AP Physics (As) and AP Stats(B+): 10th
→ AP Calc AB and BC (got B+ for AB and BC but last quarter I got As) : 11th
→ AP Chemisty (B first sem A+ second sem) : 11th
→ AP Bio (As) : 11th
→ AP Lang (As) : 11th
Top 4% of my class and finsihed highest level in math provided at our school, other PLTW biomed courses (all 4years)
Community College Courses: 6-8 courses all As (medical term, CPR and First aid, biological anthropology etc.)
Question: Does getting a lower score (1 or 2) on APs hinder your chances, just asking in case for the future?
Sports: Varsity tennis (3 years)
Otherwise, for ECs, below are my main ones in general terms, but I will obviously be having more and further specific language while applying.
→ I have a book published (around 15-20 buyers)
→ Continuous volunteer for almost 3 years at a care home center.
→ SWE lead for startup companies (2x)
→ around 3 internships, all in mostly biotech
→ VP and Ambassador for 2 non-prof (actively holding events and leading our team)
→ 3-4 programs from UC Davis
→ 2 research papers (both haven’t been published yet, tho)
→ 10-15 articles published for a publishing company where I have a designated title (regular publisher)
→ Passion Project related to the healthcare and technology field.
→ VP (11th ) and Pres (12) HOSA (won scholarship and 2 recognition events)
I know around 5 languages, of which one of them is I think top 5 hardest languages to learn.
i am going for the pre-med route, ik this isnt that impressive, but I try my best, sorry yall had to read sm. Not sure if I am forgetting smth but so far.
