Admission Chances?

I was wondering if someone could tell me what they believe my chances are for being accepted into Clemson, as it is my top school. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

- Top Catholic private school in Connecticut (OOS)
- 3.6 weighted, 3.3 unweighted. I know this is a little low but the school I attend is well-known for being very rigorous
- 28 ACT (taking again)
- 1850 SAT, 1230 combined Math and CR
- 257 service hours
- 4 AP courses and 7 honors courses throughout high school
- top 50% of class (a little low)
- lots of ECSs including varsity hockey and lacrosse, service projects, camp counselor, job at restaurant for over 1 year, etc.
- 3 very strong letters of recommendation

I mean you’re not out of it but your class rank and GPA are low and your SAT/ACT score isn’t overly impressive. If you had one area where you were outstanding that would help you out but I don’t really see that. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. You seem to be very knowledgeable about Clemson admissions, so in your opinion, if my ACT and SAT scores went up (since I am taking each test again this fall) what would you say my chances are?

you need a reason for the admissions committee to think you’re gonna succeed at Clemson. If you’ve got one area where you can stand out then that’ll help. With below average grades and average test scores you’re going to have a tough time getting in.

You are on the bubble…class rank and GPA might hold you back. I have two daughters both accepted in the last two years with 28 and 29 ACT but both in top quartile rank and up around 3.8 UW…good lucK!
