Admission Decision Delayed

I just found out my admission decision has been delayed to regular decision. What do I do now? I found this out after first semester grades are in and it’s too late to retake the ACT again. I’m just really disappointed because I got three really high B’s and there’s no way for colleges to know that. Can I rewrite my essays and send in letters of recommendation? I applied with common app but I’m unsure how to send in additional materials.

Edit: Is it a good idea to write a letter about my interest in the school and state my intent to enroll if accepted or does this come across as desperate?

You can send a letter if you have something new to say (new accomplishment or source of interest). That’s the consensus I’ve seen on CC

Do not rewrite your essays. One assumption may be that someone helped you rewrite it, and admissions officers are plenty busy reading and don’t want to read extra essays. Also, do not send another recommendation unless it specifically relates to something new not already in your application (i.e. do not send another teacher recommendation that you are a great student, hard worker, likable person, etc.)

Do send a letter of continued interest. Note anything new in your letter (award, interesting project, internship, job, etc.), but don’t rehash your application.

@blprof Thanks for the reply. Is it a good idea to ask why I was referred?

Well, you can always ask but you might not get much of an answer. It varies from school to school.
