Admission Fall 2011?

I’m a white female from Texas with a 4.3 weighted GPA. I have taken many Honors/PreAP classes throughout high school, and will finish my senior year with having taken a total of 7 AP classes. I am an active member in my school’s community service organization, as well as NHS and SHS (Spanish Honor Society). Also, I am a part of the dance/drill team, and have held an officer position for my junior and senior years. Now, the first time I took the SAT’s, I only got a 1700…but if I can raise my scores to at least an 1800, what do you think my chances of getting into BostonU are? I really appreciate all the help I can get! BostonU is my dream school  Thanks a bunch!

BTW- I am undecided on my major right now, probably going to apply to CGS though…

SAT’s are only a piece of admissions. Your GPA, number of AP courses and extracurrics will make up most of your application. Honestly, don’t apply to CGS and apply to CAS (or whatever school you’re most interested in." If you are able to hit 1800, your odds of admission are very favorable. Take the ACT, as I did significantly better (250 point increase on conversion scale with minimal studying). If it is your absolute dream school and financial aid is not too much of a problem, consider applying under early decision. If not, RD works just as fine. This from a BU '14 student.
