Admission into Princeton

Presently I am doing IB diploma in one of the United World College. i got a predicted of 36 in IB. i wish to apply to Princeton, middlebuty and colby. I had recently given the new SAT and preparing to give TOEFL next month and the three SAT II subjects in October. My nationality is Indian. I just want to know what exactly are the new SAT requirements and other requirements for admission. i highly need financial aid. Without that i cannot enter any of the schools. Since UWC schools provide Shelby Davis scholarships for these colleges, i plan to apply to only these three and two other as for safety.
so can u please provide me the required information or any links.

thanks a lot

I know that princeton and middlebury are need blind, so your applying/needing financial aid will have NO effect n the admission decision

I am not familiar with IB - but you might want to contact 3 students from MUWCI who got into princeton this year (although i think only 1 of them is Indian) to get a better understanding of how it worked for them

There is no ‘cut off’ for SAT scores (no1 cares about TOEFL, since they kinda consider India as a semi-english speaking country) but ofcourse the higher the score the better. Of the 4 Indians going to princeton this year, i think two of them had SAT I of 1600/1600 and SAT II of 2350+/2400

I am sure you have very good reasons for applying to only 5 colleges, but if I were to do it again - i would surely apply to more than 5 colleges because admission at these top colleges is such a crapshoot

I dont know how it will work - but be prepared to compete with the desi pool and the pool of the country where your UWC is located

I’m an IB Diploma Candidate (soon to be recepient hopefully) and am going to Princeton in the fall! Princeton accepted three students from my senior class of 700 students, of which only 100 students are IB. All three were IB students (ranked in the top 2%).

Princeton, as do all of the highly competitive schools, love to see you take full advantage of the IB Diploma Programme. Thus, instead of taking only 3 HL’s and 3 SL’s, I decided to take 4 HL’s and 2 SL’s (which I believe is the international limit on HL’s). I took: HL Biology, HL Physics, HL English, HL History (Americas and Contemporary). These scores I will get on July 6th. My SL’s were Math Methods (calculus) and Spanish. Both were 7’s.

Hope that can help you in your college decision process. I wish you the best of luck and hope to see you in Princeton in a couple of years!

Bumping this one, too.

Rexer: “Mightchip- did you apply as an international, if so where from?”

Nope, not international student. I’m just in (or was in) an IB School in Miami, Florida. I was born in Puerto Rico (US citizenship) and moved to Miami when I was 5.
