Admission letter from uc didn't apply to

So…I got an admission letter from a uc i didn’t apply to and I don’t know what that means…Does receiving one mean that I got rejected from the other schools I applied to?

bump bump bump…

no, are you eligible in the local context?

This is a bit confusing, but the UCs have said that could happen this year. With SB, D, I and SC taking fewer freshmen, some who didn’t apply will be pushed to R and M.

Yeah I am eligible in the local context. I was just worried. Thanks for your advices everyone!

I do not think it necessarily indicates rejection. Last year, several applicants I know got offered admission at UC’s they did not apply to and then were accepted at another UC later. Of course, this year could be different due to the economy, but I wouldn’t assume anything yet.

if you’re a qualified applicant UCs will often look at you even if you haven’t applied to their campus. :)

Did you check the box on your app that said you would like your app considered by other colleges (for which you didn’t pay)? If so, your app is automatically given to Merced (and Riverside?) so they can recruit you.
