Read the book when it came out - good read for anybody interested in college admissions. Looks like they are making the movie more of a comedy than the book was.

I also agree that the trailer looks far more comedic than the book, which dealt with lots of inner emotional turmoil for Portia. I love Tina Fey though, so I’ll be lining up to see it.

“faction”. I felt like her description of the Princeton admissions process was a lot like other “factual” accounts I’d read, but obviously the story goes waaayyyy off on a personal tangent in this case.

Re Book: Loved first part of book focusing on the admissions process, but thought once the story started centering around the baby it got a bit contrived. Tina Fey perfect for this role.

Re the ending about the switch of admissions, I wonder if this ever happens, or (more likely) if a GC let’s slip to an AO that student X just got admitted to say Yale the AO will wait list/deny that student as a result?

Really enjoyed the book. I agree that based on trailers, the movie’s tone will be more comedic than that of the book. I think I would like to see it because I enjoy Tina Fey and Paul Rudd.

My all time favorite college admissions movie is ‘Risky Business’ with Tom Cruise. Love the scenes with Admissions officer Richard Mazur. “Now those grades aren’t quite up to Princeton standards, are they son?”

Dh and I saw it this afternoon. It was good especially if you are into this website.
The best part was the admissions story and Rudd and fey. I could have lived without the adoption story.
Leaving for visits on Sunday and Princeton is not on the list
