Admission Requirements, would you bother if?

Has anyone applied and been accepted to a college that had specific admission requirements that you did not meet? I’m not talking about colleges that just list recommended courses but those that are specific. Let’s say the requirement was for 2 years of history and you only had one. Would you even bother to try and apply?

you could apply, and then, with your application, submit a letter explaining what circumstances led you to have only one year of history.

I agree with sevitagen. I faced that problem when applying for undergrad engineering. I was supposed to have taken physics and I hadn’t, so it was just recommended that I take it over the summer before I arrived (which I did not do, but ended up doing fine in physics in college anyway).

Thanks for the responses. Is there a specific place to give detail/reasons why you don’t have all the requirements? You don’t think they would just look at your transcripts and toss it out without reading the whole app?
Anyone else?
