I have recently applied to USC and had a question I really need answered. I have submitted my high school transcript for USC admission but I could not find when the deadline for sending in college transcripts are. I am a high school senior but took college classes at four(4) universities/colleges and was curious when I should travel to the schools to request these transcripts for the school.

My friends who have applied have told me I don’t have to turn those in until told to do so by USC

My counselor says to send them in asap just in case

so…I’m not sure…i would send them in asap if you think those 4 classes are important to your overall profile
if they are just so-so ( like you didnt like your grades, or they really weren’t that many credits), then I think you can wait

I am sorry, Jiapet, but once you start taking college courses you do not have the option to pick and chose which ones you will submit. All college work attempted must be reported. If 20 years from now you are applying to a graduate program, you will be requesting those same college transcripts to submit with your grad application.

Indianjatt, you probably don’t need to travel to those schools to request the transcript be sent - you can usually do it by mail or FAX. Sending those requests now would be a good idea.

but he’s a high school senior…
if he has stated on his application his unofficial courses, then he doesn’t necessarily have to send in a transcript
for one school i have applied to, there is not even a place to self-report grades for summer classes taken in college

College courses taken as a high school senior (or junior or sophomore…) will be part of your academic history throughout your education. As I stated above, every university you apply to from the time you first take college courses requires you to submit transcripts for all college work attempted - whether you feel it “is important to your overall profile” or not. Some will only require you to self-report the courses on the application until admitted and then submit the transcripts (the UCs are an example of this) while most require transcripts with your application.

Failing to report all college work attempted - especially if it is because “you didn’t like the grades” - can result in rescinding of admission, expulsion, or revocation of any degrees granted. If you failed to do so I recommend you send those transcripts as soon as possible to avoid those possible outcomes.
