Admission to GA Tech?

Hello,

I am a Pacific Islander female high school senior currently living in Georgia. I just went to Georgia Tech earlier this afternoon and immediately fell in love with it; I’m going to apply for Regular Decision to attend next fall (2015). I’m just really concerned about being accepted, and I would like some feedback on the chances that I have of getting in.

My current GPA is 3.795; this is a cumulative GPA, and it’s weighted. My rank number is 64 out of 352, and I am in the 81%, or roughly the quarter percentile.

AP Classes I’ve taken/I am taking this year:

 1. AP Government
 2. AP European History
 3. AP U.S. History
 4. AP Language & Composition
 5. AP Calculus
 6. AP French
 7. AP Literature
 8. AP Microeconomics

I’ve taken all the highest levels of classes that my school offers, especially in math. (I’ve only taken the highest levels of science classes my freshman, sophomore, and junior year; instead of taking AP Biology this year, I am taking Honors Human Anatomy/Physiology.)

ACT Score:
Composite: 25
English: 25
Math: 22
Reading: 28
Science: 25
Writing: 6
Combined English/Writing: 22

I KNOW that this is a terrible score (especially in Math and Science), but it was my first time taking it and I did not prepare for it whatsoever. I’m going to take it a second time, and I will study. I haven’t taken the SAT yet, but I’m supposed to be taking one in October, November, and December. Georgia Tech does superscore, right? Do they take that in consideration when looking at scores? Because, again, I know these are terrible scores, but I want to take as much standardized tests as I can so I can have a better chance of improving my scores.

Extracurricular Activities:
-Beta Club member for two years; the whole club volunteered to help donate and organize a local thrift shop my freshman year
-Science Club member for two years; the whole club went to Wassaw Island and helped clean up the beach there my freshman year
-French Club member for three years; Secretary of the French Club
-Calculus Club member this year; Secretary of the Calculus Club; I’m going to do a Buddy Walk this weekend to promote the acceptance of people with Down Syndrome. We’re going to do more projects before I turn in the application, we just haven’t specified anything yet for the rest of the semester.
-FBLA member for two years
-Volunteered at a local library last summer
-Volunteered at a local church for the past two summers for Vacation Bible School; I was one of the activity leaders.

Any feedback? Comments?

I appreciate you taking the time to read this, thank you.

your GPA is fine and you better retake the ACT. What’s your major? I think GT is reach for you if you re going to apply for engineering majors.
