I just realized how tough admission to UT is compared to other Big 12 schools. [just a thought]

Does anyone have statistics of admissions to UT before they created the top 10 law?

Does anyone have statistics of admissions to UT before they created the top 10 law?

The Big 12 is an athletic conference and has little bearing on academics other than admission and minimum GPA maintanence requirements for athletes.

It was slightly more challenging to get into UT as a freshman before the rule from a pure GPA/SAT stats standpoint.

yea it was just a thought, you got in before the rule right?

i have a friend who has a 4.0 he is also graduating this year, he didn’t get into UT, and he told me how both his mom and his dad went to texas, he said admission back in the days wasn’t tough at all since the school didn’t get overcrowded.

@texasyall

thats exactly what i was thinking, UT is like a public ivy now.

It actually is one of the original 8 public ivy’s.

[Public Ivy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Public Ivy - Wikipedia)

UT is the best academic institution in the Big 12. From what I’ve seen, the athletics program ain’t bad either. Is UT a superior school? Great athletics+great academics=awesome. Now if only the athletes were great academics…

UT = Football, im not sure about UTs other sports programs.

Not too shabby…

thank you @zcl for proving yet again how little pierrechn knows about UT… maybe he/she should see the tower light up.

@pierrechn

Why do you always insist on putting your foot in your mouth? Texas has one of the best athletics departments in the entire country even outside of football. Again it might help if you did some research before ONCE AGAIN saying something that is completly stupid.

Let me ask again why you post here? Didn’t you say you were going to another college now? Please go post on their thread from here on out. You consistently add little or no value to the UT Austin thread.

The Texas Longhorns Football program is the main sport that UT is known for.(aside from BB, which A&M owns at)

@ms

haha lol you cant say that when you hear about UT sports, you dont think of football??? who cares about swimming? tennis? rowing?(***) lol i cant say anything about baseball, to many people like the sport.

@BK

i said i didnt know about UTs other programs.

do you really thinking proving a point does anything? not really BAHHHH

and @BK i dont know how many times i have to tell you this, i post on more than just these boards lol.

“aside from BB, which A&M owns at”

Yet again, insert foot into foolish mouth. I didn’t really think I’d jump on the anti-pierrechn train, but the more you type, the more ridiculous you look.

Baseball Stats

College World Series Appearances: A&M = 4, UT = 33
Big 12 Championships: A&M = 3, UT = 5
Southwest Conference Championships: A&M = 15, UT = 65
Natn’l Championships: A&M = 0, UT = 6
NCAA Tourney Appearances: A&M = 23, UT = 53

Shall I keep going? It’s probably a good thing you’re going to be an Aggie, if you ended up on the 40 Acres I might have to track you down and introduce my foot to your ass.

He might have been talking about basketball, but UT is traditionally better at that too.

UT basketball has 27 conference championships and A&M has 13. UT has gone to the tournament 28 times and A&M has gone 11 times. UT has the 15th most all time wins of all D1 basketball programs IDK about TAMU.

Recently, tamu has been doing well at basketball but I wouldn’t say they “own” at it lol

Ahh good point fly - but as you point out, they still don’t own at it. They only thing they “own” is hatin’ on the Horns. lol

they probably dont own but they did better this year.

@onthefly

i doubt you even go to any of those games.

I’ve never been to a college basketball game, all i did was post conference championships and tournament appearances

Both teams finished 24-10. A&M finished slightly better in conference play but UT had the better wins this season before the late season collapse. I wouldn’t say that was owning them.

yea i wonder if that 6-11 guy from UT that lost all that weight will enter the draft

if you’re talking about dexter pittman, hes a senior so ya he will
