Admissions comparison - WHERE DID YOU GET ACCEPTED

I am in the International Baccalaureate Program, going for the ful IB diploma

I have a 3.8 unweighted GPA

I got a 2110 on my SATs
CR-720
W-700 (10 on my essay)

Looking for anyone with similar info to tell me where they got accepted…doesn’t have to be exact, just general range. Thanks :)

I also have lots of extra curriculars.

I’ve rowed crew for two years (coxswain and rower) and played numerous other sports (captain of field hockey team, ran track and field).

I have been involved in theatre since the first grade and have performed in about 20 community/school productions.

I’ve taken singing lessons for four years, and been in chorus since 5th grade.

Lots of community service, unique activities like reading for a radio station for the blind.

Editor of my school newspaper.

again ANYONE WITH SIMILAR INFO, I’D LOVE TO KNOW WHERE YOU GOT ACCEPTED/WAITLISTED/REJECTED.

trying to be realistic with my applications, don’t want to waste money!

Start with #21 on USnews list and go from there…

Family member had similar stats (weighted GPA of 4.48 and top 3% of her class but same SAT), though she had some honors and awards including NHS etc Student Government position and was going in as a Biology major. Public High School in the Northeast. She was accepted to the following schools this year. These are the only ones I can remember, there were other acceptances. (only rejected from a few schools, eg UNC which takes very few out of state, otherwise accepted or waitlisted at her other choices. BTW She did not apply to any Ivies):

Northwestern University
Boston College
Wake Forest
Miami of Ohio
UCONN (Honors)
U of Delware (Honors)

Waitlisted at UVA and Notre Dame right now.

A guy in her school with lower rank, GAP and very few extracurriculars but slightly higher SATS got into Duke early decision. It depends on the school. Unfortunately some schools have too many women applying and are looking for more XY chromosome even if they don’t admit it. There are top 20’s you could apply to if you have some kind of hook: Legacy, underrepresented minority group, play a sport they desire, musical or other activity slot they need to fill etc. When you break the 700 club, its worth a shot at any school, just be realistic and have other target or likely schools.

Need more info to really narrow down school choices. For instance what is your general geographic location. If you are from Oklahoma or South Dakota-you may have a better chance at certain schools. What is your intended major? If Drama, Northwestern is super competitive but if you have exceptional talent you can show them, than its worth trying. Any area of the country you want to apply to and what part of the country do you live in? You could also re-take the SAT and shoot for 740s or above and increase you liklihood of getting into higher ranked schools. However, I am strongly oppposed to using rank alone as a reason to select or choose a school. Good Luck Drama Queen.

I think that list is a good mix, though the waitlist results could become acceptances with phenomenal “soft” factors (recs, essays).
