So, I am really worried about college and admissions especially if I will be discriminated against because I am part Jewish. The political climate of today makes me really scared and I really dealt with my first anti-semetic bullying incident today. (I moved from St. Louis to rural Minnesota, go figures). I hadn’t ever truly dealt with the antisemitism that the U.S. deals with and I am really terrified now, of not only admissions but as well as how I will be treated on campus once I get there. Note: I do not want to go to a Jewish school. The guys comment hurt so bad I started crying and I suddenly remembered why I never told anyone I was Jewish. My family came to the U.S. to escape the holocaust and we even changed our religion because of the fear. Now time has repeated itself and I am scared like my ancestors.
I’m sorry you had to deal with this. Many schools are welcoming of Jews. Visit the Hillel website. They have a link to a college guide with an annual list of schools with large Jewish populations both by percentages and by numbers. You will recognize a lot of names on this list, and be surprised as well.
