Admissions Postings?

Congrats Mango!

Thank you woah :)) it will be my turn to congratulate you tomorrow!

I still don’t understand. NU In should be for students who love to travel and want to experience other cultures. By throwing in incentives like accepting you to the honors program (when there are a thousand students admitted to the campus who don’t get honors), they make it seem like the In program is some chore one must endure in order to be able to attend the NEU campus. I’m totally lost on the In program. They should have made it a separate choice one can apply for if he/she wishes. The way they are doing this just seems wrong.

Mango, congrats

Wait listed with

Disappointed but oh well

Congrats mango! I’ve been enjoying your posts this evening and I’m happy to hear you were offered a spot. Best of luck wherever you end up!

I got wait listed with a 34 ACT, 3.9 GPA, a truck load of extra currics, over 150 volunteer hours, etc, etc. …wow… just wow. This was one of my top choices; and as of right now, I am astounded and really quite mad.

i’m an international student… still no e-mail…

N.U.IN program

Accepted!! 10,000$ scholarship :]
SAT: 1930
GPA UW: 3.4

Thank you bluetrav!

And NEU2017, what you were offered was a great achievement and you should be very proud of yourself. I think it’s unheard of to be on a wait list for the honors program! You must be special in their eyes and I’m sure their is a valid reason for this offer. Congrats!

I should probably note that the NU In costs about $80,000 for the first year, because you’re going internationally. I got waitlisted…so yeahhhhhhhhhhh.

Accepted to NU.in! Completely was expecting to be rejected so this is a nice surprise! I don’t know how I feel being abroad first semester but it is worth considering. Otherwise I’m happy with other schools I have gotten into. Stats: 3.93 unweighted GPA, 26 superscored ACT. Good luck to everyone!

I have to be honest @Mango, @NEU, and whoever else got into NU.in program… I was pretty upset at first. But now I’m giving it some serious consideration. There are so many pros and cons to it, and SO many questions! I’ll probably attend one of the NU.in info sessions in April and see what I think after that. I really felt like Northeastern was the school for me, and I don’t want to rule it out just because I may spend the first 5 months in Ireland (where I’ve always wanted to go), or elsewhere.

NU.in is a really cool opportunity, so don’t wave it off right away!

Btw thanks for keeping me sane on this thread everyone… I would have been even more of a nervous wreck without you.

You are incorrect about not being able to use financial aid for the first semester of NU in. If you have been awarded a “University Grant”, it is allocated to both semesters equally - including the study abroad bill. University Grants are awarded for 8 semesters of study.

Any federal aid that is received, either via grant and/or self-help (loan & work/study) only can be used beginning with the spring semester.

Accepted to NU in

GPA: 80/100 UW
ACT: 24

I go to a pretty well known, rigorous private school and I had a 91 GPA my first semester of senior year.

Accepted only in Jan. admission for NU in program

APs: Us History/Modern European History/Economics Micro/Economics Macro/ AP Calculus
Honors: Biology/Chemistry/Physics/English 31/English 41/Algebra 21

UW GPA: 4.2
UW 1st Quarter Senior: 4.5
UW 2nd Quarter Senior: 4.4

Sat: 1940
Sat Math II: 670

Essay: Truly great IMO

Gave theory about how humans are approaching nothingness essentially since the universe, due to dark energy, is expanding at an increased rate (positive acceleration) and therefore if we quantify our space over a denominator of infinity…since the amount of space created will approach infinity as time approaches infinity…the limit will equal zero. Also wrote about my hot coal walking experience and buisness seminar with Tony Robbins.

Applied to: College of Engineering

Quite disappointed, but happy for NUin opportunity…I see Northeaster as my top choice

I was surprised that NU offer me the admission, b/c after I submitted my application I found that NU won’t give intl students FA and I can’t afford it therefore afterwards I quit and didn’t send many required material such as financial certification ,passport etc. And I got an Email from NU and I found that they offered me the admission ! This is quite out of my expectation ! I’ve thought they won’t admit intl students who ask FA.

Same with me lecorbett7! I was a bit ambivalent about whether I liked the idea of NU in or not, but the more I research the more I like! Ever since I was in elementary school I told my mom I wanted to go to Australia and the program in Australia would allow me to fulfill my pre-med requirements (bio and chem class). I was worried it was only for humanity majors!

I’m very excited, and this definitely makes NU an applealing option that deserves some serious consideration.
