Admissions Probably

I will be applying ED this fall. I received a 2150 combined score on the SAT’s - 760 math; 740 verbal; 720 writing. I have a 3.82 GPA - unweighted. I took the His. SAT II - 770 and a 720 on the Bio.

I am taking the most challenging classes my school has to offer – took 3 AP’s last year and received 2 5’s and a 4 on the exams. I am taking 5 AP’s this year. I have substantial leadership and volunteer work as well as 4 years on a varsity sport.

Assuming my essays are good, what do you think my chances are? Should I take the math SAT subject test? How can I get a “likely” or “unlikely” letter?

Thanks

You can get a 3rd SATII if you would like, I’m not sure if it is required or not. If you class rank, essay, recs, and other “factors” work in your favor, you seem like a pretty good candidate. Your SAT isn’t outstanding and you really don’t need to retake, but 760+720+740 =/= 2150. Which school CC or SEAS, are you applying to?

760+720+740=2220 I thought

Does Columbia even send likely letters?

Only Fu Foundation sends Likely letters to boost yield.

OP’s stats aren’t good enough for a likely letter, but then again neither are 100% of College admits and 90% of Engineering admits.

You have a fair shot at admissions.

how does a likely letter boost yield?

^It makes the applicant feel special and wanted.

hmmmm…i get it i think
