Admissions Process

I received an email of acceptance into the Meadows School of the Arts.

It also states that, "
Successful completion of the audition, however, does not guarantee admission
into the University. Please be sure to complete all aspects of your
application if you have not already done so. The University will often
defer their decision until they’ve reached word on our decision, which has
been done as of this time."

Today, I receive the University’s reject letter and it’s postmarked the 8th of March.

Is this a mistake?

I hope they are open tomorrow because this does not make any sense.

I am not sure because my son received his university admission letter and then two days later got a separate letter from Meadows. I would call them.

@bubblemom

Was your son accepted? I’m thinking my GPA is a 3.24 so that might be a too low?

I’ve called but no one’s answering. Must be spring break

@BMTQ15

Yes, he was accepted by the university and Meadows. I do know that they are on Spring Break this week.

I wouldn’t presume that your GPA is too low. Admissions to talent programs are usually handled a little differently I think. In your case, your audition will be a big factor. My son is in visual arts, so he had to submit a portfolio for review.

Hang in there! Your acceptance may still come. Good luck!

Congrats to your son. I called the admission counselors and asked about my application. They said my transferable GPA is about a 1.5 since I received F’s in about 25 credit hours which transferred from one community college to another.

Is there any way to forgive those 2 semesters? My grandma was diagnosed with gastric cancer and I COULD NOT focus on academics =/
